Lake House Printers & Publishers PLC is a Public Limited Liability Company quoted on the Colombo Stock Exchange. It was incorporated in 1965 as a Private Limited Liability Company until it went public in 1975 and remains so to this day.
The company has its origins as the Commercial Printing Department of the then largest newspaper group in Sri Lanka, the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), which itself was incorporated in 1926.
Our company, located in Colombo 2 specializes in security printing, primarily the printing and supply of cheque leaves, as well as providing plastic and metal banking cards, digital solutions, sustainable cards and wearables to our customer base which mainly comprises state and commercial banks and established business houses in the country.
For operational purposes, it has two main production divisions, namely the Security Printing Division and Lake House Technologies Division. (Also known as the Security Cards Division)

Mr. R.S. Wijewardene, our Chairman and Managing Director, holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, and has led our company since its inception in 1965.He serves as the President of the Newspaper Society of Sri Lanka. He also chairs the wholly-owned subsidiary company L H Plantations (Private) Limited and related entities including Wijeya Newspapers Limited, Ranweli Holiday Village Limited, Freudenberg & Company Limited, Sarathi Limited, R. S Printek (Private) Limited, and Wijeya Graphics (Private) Limited.
Mr. R.S. Wijewardene is the son of Mr. D.R. Wijewardene, founder of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited who is recognized for the role played by him in the nation's journey towards independence. Mr. Dilantha Stephen Seneviratne is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (FCMA) with over 36 years of post-qualifying experience in Finance, Corporate Management & Commercial operations in the Plantation /Corporate sector.
Mr. Seneviratne served as a Director at Hayleys Plantation Services (Pvt) Ltd and as Director/CEO of Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC. With over two decades of experience in Finance and Corporate Management, he has made a significant contribution to the plantation sector. In addition, he has over a decade of experience as a CEO, General Manager, and Financial Controller in diverse corporate sectors, including manufacturing, trading, logistics, and road construction.
He was The Chairman of the CSR Steering Committee of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a Trustee of the Plantation Trust Fund, Member of Employers Federation of Ceylon and Planters Association sub committees, and Steering Committee on IAS 41 – Agriculture of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has participated in national and overseas training programs and Chairman/ Team leader on companywide quality and process improvement initiatives.

Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala is a distinguished professional personality, holding fellowships with several prestigious institutes. He has served in pivotal roles, including Chairman and Managing Director of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Chairman of People’s Bank, and as an advisor in the Ministry of Finance. Prof. Watawala is also actively involved on various boards of Public Quoted Companies.
He is the President of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and its founding president. He was a Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, the South Asian Federation of Accountants, and The Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka, which is the apex body of Professional Organizations. He was also the Founder President of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka.

Executive Director – Security Printing Division
Mr. M. P. B. S. Wijerathne brings nearly four decades of experience in the printing industry. He joined Lake House Printers & Publishers PLC in 1984 as a Trainee Printing Assistant. Over the years, he has steadily progressed through various leadership roles, being appointed Assistant Manager in 1992 and Manager in 1994. His continued dedication and expertise eventually led to his appointment as Executive Director of the Security Printing Division in 2023. Mr. Wijerathne has been instrumental in leading the division, overseeing its operations. He holds a Diploma in Printing, specializing in both Management and Technology, further strengthening his expertise in the field.

Mr. Tony Johnpillai, with over 28 years of experience in Sri Lanka’s financial technology sector, is a seasoned professional in the banking card and payment solutions industry. He began his career in 1995 with the country’s then first banking card manufacturer. Lake House Technologies Division (formerly designated and sometimes still referred to as the Security Cards Division) being one of the main divisions of the company, was set up by Mr. Johnpillai in the year 2007 and has now expanded into the dominant market player in Sri Lanka’s banking card industry. Under his leadership, the division has expanded its portfolio from Visa, MasterCard, JCB, and China UnionPay cards to the latest innovative solutions, such as wearable smart payment devices and contactless payment technologies. Mr. Johnpillai has established strategic partnerships with global leaders like Thales, Giesecke+Devrient (G+D), and Manipal Technologies, further strengthening the company’s pre-eminent position in the industry. His leadership has fostered a high-performing team, driving Lake House Technologies to become a trusted name in payment solutions, committed to innovation and ethical business practices. He continues to steer the company toward future advancements in financial technology.
Chief Financial Officer
Mrs. Rasinthaa Abeydheera, a Senior Chartered Accountant, has been with the group for over 20 years and recently assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Throughout her distinguished career, she has held several key leadership positions in our organization and its related companies. Her previous roles include Chief Internal Auditor of Lake House Printers & Publishers PLC, Chief Financial Officer of RS Printek (Pvt) Ltd, Head of Procurement Facilitation at Wijeya Newspapers Ltd, and Finance Consultant at Wijeya Networks (Pvt) Ltd. Mrs. Abeydheera is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and a Chartered Tax Advisor. Additionally, she is a Member of AAT Sri Lanka and holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting.
Deputy General Manager – Finance
Mr. T. A. U. Jinadasa brings nearly four decades of dedicated service to Lake House Printers & Publishers PLC. He joined the company in 1987 as an Accountant and, through his expertise and commitment, rose to the positions of Financial Controller and later Deputy General Manager Finance. Prior to joining Lake House Printers & Publishers PLC, he began his career at a leading international audit firm in Sri Lanka, where he gained six years of invaluable experience. Mr. Jinadasa has successfully completed the final stages of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).

Mr. D. P. Anura Nishantha Kumara is a seasoned legal professional. He has been serving as the Company Secretary for Lake House Printers & Publishers PLC and its subsidiary, L. H. Plantations (Pvt) Ltd, since 1996. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, in 1995 and was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1998. In 1999, he obtained a Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka. Mr. Kumara is a registered Company Secretary and a Notary Public.
